The current administration has treated LGBTQ lives like bargaining chips, rolling back protections in healthcare, threatening recognition of families, and opening the door for discrimination cloaked as “religious liberty.” That kind of erosion doesn’t happen all at once; it nibbles away at safety until people start doubting their own right to exist openly. LGBTQ people have always been the ones to push history forward when power tried to press them flat, and this moment calls for that same fierce insistence on dignity. Showing up to the No Kings protest on March 28 is a way to remind those in power that we’re not props in someone else’s hierarchy, and that our rights aren’t optional accessories for them to remove.

Bring your signs and your voices to tell Lea County and Hobbs that Trump is not a King, and he, too, must follow the laws of the land. We must save our Democracy for the LGBTQ community, for the people of Venezuela and Iran, for the people of Palestine, for those who lost their healthcare, for everyone who has been hurt this last year. We need you!
